Mid-West Regional Sales Manager

The Mid-West Regional Sales Manager is responsible for growing product sales in the Mid-West Region through distribution, broker management, and strategic end-user accounts.  Apart from working with distribution, strong experience in specific trade channels is a big plus - e.g. Colleges & Universites, QSR ( Quick Serve Restaurants) , B&I ( Business and Industry), Grocery Chains, Lodging etc. Ability to handle details, processes and be concise and thorough is required.  The candidate would be ideally located in Chicago or Minneapolis, or near a major Mid-West metropolitan area.  A passion and commitment to making a positive environmental and social change in the world is required.
 
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a sales strategy plan for the Mid- West region
    • Minnesota, Wisconsin areas
    • Illinois (particularly Chicago), Northern Indiana, Iowa, N&S Dakota
    • Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Arkansas
    • Texas (particularly Austin, Dallas, Houston) , Oklahoma
  • Grow product sales across multiple channels, identify and develop new end accounts and distribution points
  • Retain and grow existing accounts, maintaining excellent levels of communication and service
  • Recruit, manage and train brokers
  • Work with the internal supply chain team to ensure accurate forecasting in Netsuite System.
  • Use internal proceses/ERP system to enter leads, opportunities, forecasts, tasks and sales activities
  • Monitor and keep abreast on market conditions and events, customers issues and competitive intelligence
  • Attend events, trade-shows, and customer related meetings and give presentations
  • Work well with other World Centric Sales Managers & Internal Operational Teams
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with demonstrated success in sales
  • Experience in the foodservice industry with distributors and working with end user accounts
  • Experience in disposables/packaging a plus
  • Proven broker sales management experience
  • Proven customer relationship & organizational skills with the ability to detailed, concise and thorough
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, negotiation and sales skills
  • Excellent writing, speaking, and presentation skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and become knowledgeable of products in a short time
  • Experience with CRM, leads/sales management systems
  • Good Technical Computer Skills, Systems skills
 
Compensation 
Compensation is dependent on experience and will be a combination of base salary + bonus.

Compost Pilot Project Associate/Paid Intern

World Centric is seeking a qualified and self-motivated individual to research and develop a community-based composting pilot project in Petaluma, CA. As a leading producer of compostable foodservice products, our company is uniquely invested in the creation of sustainable, zero waste solutions to close the loop on compostable plastics and plant fiber products. We believe change starts at home, and so our initial focus is on addressing the composting infrastructure gaps that exist right here in our backyard. We’re looking for a knowledgeable, passionate person to work within our existing Compost Task Force and serve as a Project Associate. This is a hands-on opportunity that combines research, community organizing, and business plan development.
 
Pay is competitive and relocation is a possibility. This can be a full or part-time position, and the timeline is flexible based on the needs of the right applicant. Students seeking internship opportunities in business development, environmental studies, soil science, city and regional planning, resource recovery & waste management, etc. are encouraged to apply.  We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible, ideally by June 1.
 
Project Objectives:
  • Research, design & take steps toward implementing a community-scale composting program in Petaluma, CA, that will process locally sourced organics and compostable products into compost and/or energy.
  • Collaborate with World Centric staff to promote the acceptance of certified compostable plastics in industrial composting facilities.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Compile existing research on compostable plastics, small-scale composting systems and anaerobic digesters (AD)
  • Research compostable plastics acceptance into the National Organic Program (NOP)
  • Identify local feedstocks, research potential infrastructure and propose implementation of community-appropriate system
  • Envision innovative waste hauling solutions (see Compost Peddlers in Austin, TX)
  • Explore uses/markets for compost or energy generated by the proposed system
  • Organize community events & outreach related to commercial food waste management
  • Develop & manage project budget
  • Report project updates & progress to Compost Task Force
 
Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with various composting & AD systems
  • Passion for community organizing
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Self motivated: able to take ownership of assignments, develop work plans and proactively seek feedback to ensure that objectives are met
  • Proven community organizing and project management experience

Order Logistics Manager

World Centric is currently seeking an Order Fulfillment Manager for full time employment in our Petaluma office. This is a new position that is fairly tactical and the following requirements should be noted before reading further:
 
  • Highly competent, detail oriented and capable of executing tasks while meeting deadlines
  • Both collaborative and self-motivated, able to perform tasks independently and also interface with the operations team on other functions
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Awareness of both self and community-- committed and passionate about social and environmental issues
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
Daily
  • Uploads CSV file reporting of shipped orders from warehouse.
  • Processes any exceptions and inputs costs of shipping charges when missing or needed.
  • Bills all orders once they have shipped and also handles any miscellaneous billing errors or exceptions. Responsible for checking and processing all rush orders by warehouse deadlines.
  • Responsible for generating, uploading, and sending Bill of Lading (BOL)s daily for truck shipments for each warehouse.
  • Responsible for scheduling LTL carriers.
  • Liaison between Account Management team and warehouse operations as it relates to order changes, order discrepancies.
  • Approves and receives returns indicated by reporting from warehouse.
  • Processes credit memos or refunds for resolved items.
  • Processes and checks accuracy of submitted orders by Account Management.
  • Ensures order reporting (CSV) of day’s orders to warehouse and provides any needed documents or instructions for processing.
 Weekly
  • Investigates and resolves claims, shortages, discrepancies in deliveries, and inventory discrepancies with warehouse and Account Management.
  • Responsible for acquiring and submitting all relevant documents related to claims, shortages, and damages in a timely manner.
Additional work areas:
  • Cross functional training for coverage of vacations in relation to Supply Chain, Logistics, and Inventory Management.
 
Qualifications
  • Minimum of bachelor degree or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of related experience a plus
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, manage details, and ensure accuracy and timeliness in a fast-paced and changing work environment
  • Extremely organized and very detail oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using ERP systems, and knowledge of supply chain, logistics, inventory, and/or operational processes.  Netsuite experience a plus.
  • Excel proficient with excellent analytical skills.
