We are currently hiring:

World Centric is a 12 year old leading supplier of certified compostable disposable packaging based in Petaluma CA.  The Company started as a non-profit in 2004 and now is a California Benefit Corporation and a certified B-Corp.  It offsets all its carbon emissions and donates at least 25% of profits to environmentally and socially conscious organizations.

World Centric has over 200 different products and sells into retail and foodservice across the U.S.   The Company was founded in 2004 as a non-profit to raise awareness of how our current consumption patterns are severely degrading the planet’s ecosystems and at the same time creating vast inequalities for billions of people living on less than $2/day, without access to basic necessities of adequate food, water, health care, education, housing, sanitation etc.  Now, as a for-profit we strive to create the most impact we can both socially and environmentally.  We envision a world where everyone’s basic needs can be met with a beneficial impact on the environment.

Customer Service Representative/Office Manager

The Customer Service Representative/Office Manager is the initial point of contact for customers, providing service based on our core values of integrity, community, and excellence. The candidate should possess strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. As the Customer Service Representative, you will assist our external customers with questions about products and processes and provide solutions to problems that arise, along with being responsible for all online orders. As Office Manager you will provide support to office staff (30 employees).

Customer Service Responsibilities
• First point of contact for incoming calls, inquires, emails, and in-person clients.
• Route calls, emails, and mail to other staff.
• Answer questions and concerns regarding product specifications, materials, compostability, etc.
• Interact with customers regarding all aspects of online orders (order status, returns, payment processing, etc.)
• Process all online orders using NetSuite.
• Evaluate and process donation requests for approval.
• Work with Account Management team to generate quotes and manage inventory.
• Act as lead support for the Sample Room Manager.
• Administer Customer Satisfaction Surveys.
• Take initiative to outline better processes and procedures - continuously improve the Customer Service Experience. 

Office Manager Responsibilities
• Coordinate and facilitate all team meetings as needed. Take notes of meetings
• Research and coordinate team events, including annual retreat.
• Perform office management duties, including coordinating weekly team lunches, ordering office supplies, keeping the office space organized, etc.
• Serve as the point person for maintenance and supplies.
• Partner with HR to maintain office policies as necessary. 

Required Experience
• 5+ years of experience in customer service related areas. BS/BA degree preferred
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to use judgment and tact with customers, always putting the customer first.
• Awareness and understanding of environmental and social issues.
• Excellent phone and email etiquette with effective verbal and written skills.
• Ability to learn quickly, highly organized, able to multitask and work independently in a fast paced and changing environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills, flexible, and professional.
• Experience with CRM order management systems (NetSuite), MS Office (specifically Word and Excel), accounting, and inventory management are a plus.

This is a full-time position based in our Petaluma office.

Director/VP of Operations

The Director/VP of Operations position is technical, information/technology-savvy, and very hands-on.  The position will be responsible for optimizing and supporting functional tasks such as order processing, supply chain, account management, and customer service by improving processes, reporting, and systems infrastructure.   The candidate will work closely with various departments (order fulfillment, logistics, procurement, customer service), as well as manage tasks such as website implementation, IT/phones issues, Netsuite customization/processes, reporting, pricing catalogs, EDI, etc.   Attention to detail and excellent multi-tasking and time-management skills are required.  Experience in distribution, logistics, supply chain, and order management is required.   We are looking for a hands-on, technical person who understands infrastructure/systems, as well as higher-level business tasks/processes and how to leverage both for optimal efficiency.
 
Responsibilities
 
·         Optimize and support processes and functions from procurement to customer shipping, including demand planning, inbound/outbound freight, order management/fulfillment, warehousing, and customer service.
·         Manage and optimize Netsuite for account management, order management, sales, lead generation, pipeline, and customer service.
·         Responsible for reporting/analysis for sales, logistics, customer service, and order management.
·         Responsible for maintaining pricing catalogs, pricing tiers, and margins.
·         Recommend IT/software systems for collaboration, security, backup, IT, phones, logistics, shipping, and demand planning.
·         Continuously improve and implement new processes for efficiency and ease of use. 
·         Work with sales, finance, and marketing to meet their operational needs.
 
 
Knowledge and Skills
·         10+ years’ experience in a hands-on operations role.
·         Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field (engineering, computer science) preferred.
·         Prior experience in optimizing supply chain, logistics, order management, warehousing.
·         Prior experience in creating and implementing best customer service practices and processes.
·         Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills.
·         Strong analytical skills, experience with ERP (specifically Net Suite), CRM, accounting, inventory and order management systems.
·         Excel expert.  HTML, CSS, CMS, networking, systems skills a big plus.
·         Experience in distribution, food service, packaging, consumer non-durables, or plastics industries highly desired.
·         Manufacturing background/experience a big plus.
·         Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
