benefit corporation legislation was signed into law by Governor Jerry
Brown on
October 10!
Assembly Bill 361
will create a new class of
corporation in California
called benefit corporations. Benefit corporations are defined as
corporations
whose mission is to achieve a higher purpose, greater accountability
and more transparency. The law goes into effect January 1, 2012!
